WHAT TO EXPECT

01. Save it.

1-2 Months.

Not much to see at this stage. Rest assured, your treatment plan is blocking the DHT and getting your hair back into the growth phase. You may see some shedding of existing hair as your old hair gets pushed out to make way for the new.

02. Grow it.

3-6 months

First signs of regrowth can be visible after four months of treatment in the form of fine “baby hair” popping through the scalp. The new growth can be hard to see with the naked eye and is best seen when comparing with photos taken before starting treatment.

03. See it.

6-12 months

The majority of results are usually visible in the second 6 months of treatment as those fine hairs increase in thickness, density and length. Eight months is a reasonable time frame to understand your response to treatment, with maximum results achieved after twelve months.

04. Keep it.

12 months+

With continued daily treatment, you can maintain your results for the long term. No more wasting time thinking about your thinning hair. You can be confident it’s here to stay.

ABOUT MALE PATTERN BALDNESS

Male Pattern Baldness, a.k.a Androgenetic Alopecia, is the medical term for a type of hair loss that’s responsible for 95% of hair loss in men. It often begins at the forehead with a receding hairline or thinning of the hair at the crown (top-back head). In some cases, it happens in both areas simultaneously. While hair loss is a normal part of the ageing process for most men, it can be distressing affecting confidence, making some men feel less attractive and, in some cases, depressed.

COMMON QUESTIONS

What causes male pattern baldness?

Male pattern baldness is genetic, so you’ve got your parents to thank for that. If you’re balding, you’re genetically sensitive to a male hormone called DHT, which causes the shrinking of the hair follicle. The result is thinner, finer hair until the hair eventually stops growing.

Can male pattern baldness be treated?

Absolutely. Although there’s no cure for male pattern baldness, the right combination of prescription products can effectively stop further hair loss and assist in regrowing hair lost in the last 2-3 years. The earlier you start treatment, the better the results.

When should I seek in-person treatment?

You should seek an in-person visit with your GP if you’re experiencing sudden hair loss or if you’re having hair loss on parts of the body other than on the top of your scalp. Completing our free online assessment will give us a good idea if this is required.

There’s a good chance you’ll be confronted with hair loss at some stage in your life. 30% of men at 30, 40% at 40 and 50% at 50 years of age are losing their hair.

How much does it cost?

Prices vary depending on the treatment plan you’re prescribed. Single prescription treatment plans start from $57/month, while dual combination plans start at $71/month.

The above prices are based on quarterly payments. We do have monthly payment options available.

No contracts, No delivery fee, No hidden costs.

How soon until I see results with a Harley treatment plan?

The time frame for getting results will vary. Most clients will see initial changes 3-4 months after starting treatment.

Significant changes are generally seen in the second 6 months of treatment, so we suggest committing to 9 months of treatment to really understand how the treatment is working for you.

What results can I expect from a Harley treatment?

Results may vary based on the treatment plan you’ve been prescribed and other factors including age, stage of hair loss and responsiveness to past treatments.

For the majority of clients, our treatments can effectively stop further hair loss and regrow hair lost in the last 2-3 years.

Medical treatments do have limitations and at this stage cannot restore hair lost 3 or more years ago.

Are there side effects from the medications used as part of the treatment plan?

All prescription medicines have the potential to cause side effects.

Once you’ve completed your consultation we’ll discuss the potential side effects of your suggested treatment and the likelihood of you experiencing them.

MEN'S HAIR LOSS FACTS

Fact No. 1

You’ve already lost half of it.

Hair loss is only visibly noticeable when 50% of it is already gone. Unfortunately, it’s impossible to see the small changes happening on the scalp as we age. Most hair follicles have two or three hairs growing out of them, and some may even hold four or five. So by the time you notice your hair thinning, half of those are already gone.

Fact No. 2

Only 5% of men’s hair loss is NOT genetic.

Probably not a major surprise but it does put things into perspective when you read all the possible causes of baldness. The truth is, if you’re losing your hair, it’s unlikely that your lifestyle or other factors are the cause. You can thank your parents for that.

Fact No. 3

It’s on your mind.

Hair loss has a greater effect on mental health than you’d think. Multiple studies have linked male pattern hair loss to lowered self-esteem and decreased confidence. A 2019 study in the International Journal of Trichology found that male pattern hair loss lowered the quality of life for many men, with particular effects in the areas of self-perception and interpersonal relations.
